The Learning Curve in Kindergarten

My favorite assessment in kindergarten is an artistic one. In September I gave the class step by step instructions regarding the observation and detail of self portraits. In May, I repeat these instructions once more. The change is so phenomenally obvious.


Hilario noticed how much he has learned when he stated, " We didn't even know we had ears in September Mrs. K!"


Shape, line, color and detail are suddenly included at the end of the kindergarten year. It might seem like I am boasting, but your kids are the ones that have done all the work. Their motivation, ingenuity and determination can be seen in these transformations from a mile away.


I plan to protect these masterpieces in the next few days before they are sent home. If you do not want your child's artwork laminated please let me know ASAP.

Eimhin's Family Culture

Eimhin enlightened the kindergarten class with an explanation of responsibilities and time scheduling. Each member of the class responded to his daily schedule in awe, and while comparing it to their own, realized just how much we fit into a single day.

Scientific Ooze

We are on the hunt for life in the most common of places. Our current science unit includes the study of worms, isopods, gastropods and fish. Here we are taking a look at each of the land creatures living right under our noses.
